In Oklahoma, a 6 year-old called Edith Fuller was left heartbroken when she lost the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition. She spelt the words correctly but lost because she had the least amount of points. But it wasn’t quite fair on her since the other contestants were twice her age. Edith sadly failed the required written exam and was asked to leave the stage as her father was there to pick her up.
She says that it won’t discourage her to try again when she’s a few years older, for now she will continue spelling words in her own time.
