Bride And Groom Were Greeted With Swords On Their Wedding Day. A Spectacular Ceremony

On June 11th 2011, Melanie and Nicholas got married at the church in their hometown St. Louis. They wanted to follow the Navy tradition of the Arch of Swords, and celebrate with soldiers holing their swords as a sign of respect in the ceremony.

The soldiers were standing outside the church doors waiting for the couple to come out as they were dressed in white uniforms. The soldiers greeted the bride and groom by creating an arch with the swords, as the couple walked down the stairs.

After they kissed, the final swords were raised which completed the tradition and the soldiers marched back into the church. What a beautiful ceremony!
