In Albuquerque, a dispatcher left a boy to die after he hung up on a girl who was trying to save her friend’s life. The high school student Jaydon Chavez-Silver was shot dead in his own home from the window as a gang of boys were out on a drive-by shooting. The gang wanted to shoot another person but accidentally shot through Jaydon’s window as he happened to be sat nearby.

Jaydon’s friend called the 911 dispatcher Mr. Sanchez to get help immediately but the phone call turned sour. The dispatcher told her to deal with the situation herself and hung up on her, Mr. Sanchez was soon put on administrative leave for his actions.
