A new restaurant had opened in Florida Mall and were testing their fire alarm system by popping balloons. But shoppers had mistaken the popping sounds for gunshots as they all evacuated the shopping mall. Nine people were injured in the stampede as people ran for safety, many people didn’t know what really happened but were frightened from recent events.
After the shopping centre was cleared, it was reported that the staff at the new restaurant were apologetic for causing stress. The shopping centre remained open for their normal business hours.
