What is it like to be in a coma? Well 18 year-old Claire Wineland shared her experience of being in a coma for two weeks. She was born with cystic fibrosis as doctors put her into a medically-induced coma to supply her with treatment without her brain swelling up. Claire said that the coma was the best two weeks of her life as she hallucinated and dreamt of many unusual things. Her dreams came from the drugs that she was given with a combination of her senses reacting to the real world such as ice packs were placed on her feet to cool down her body temperature.
Claire explains what she saw in her dreams and that she could hear her mother’s voice even though the doctors said it wasn’t possible. Claire is doing much better after her treatment as she shares her interesting experience with the world.
