How Safe Are Card Terminals Since Thieves Can Get Access To Your Pin Numbers

In Canada, pin pad thieves are becoming more common as they are out to steal people’s credit card details and pin numbers. These thieves work in teams as they distract the cashier while they replace card terminals with their own card terminals. They are able to take credit card details from their machines without anyone realising. In 2009, police managed to track down where this all started and the two stores that were targeted were¬†Safeway at Tillicum Centre and¬†Fairway Market near McKenzie Avenue.

Although most stores have safely connected card terminals it is always good to check for uncommon details. Make sure to notify cashiers and store managers about card terminals that may seem suspicious.
